Haitian People Move Freight Anyway They Can, Haitian earthquake update

The pace of freight carrier movements into Haiti's Port-au-Prince International Airport is finally starting to pick up and more and more freight is making it into Haiti. The pace of distribution is the next problem, getting the goods onto trucking transports and to the cities where they're are needed along the roads is another problem. The earthquake also destroyed most of the road infrastructure and getting the food and survival materials to the people in need is proving to be difficult.

American Airlines announced it had resumed air freight carrier movements into Haiti's Port-au-Prince Airport from Miami International Airport, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and New York's JFK International Airport, now that damage done to the airport by the earthquake has been repaired. The bottlenecks that have been created by the problems on the island are starting to increase according to many sources and something will have to be done to ease the bottlenecks before the problems will begin to ease.

The pressure of daily life without the necessities is starting to mount and the people of Haiti have been demonstrating more and more about the slow rate of distribution of food, water and other goods. The freight the people need to survive is beginning to arrive in ever increasing numbers according to many reports, so hopefully they'll get the distribution problems figured out soon. There has also been reports of people using whatever means is available to transport freight to destination, including on the back of people, pickup trucks and even two wheeled transportation is being used to move freight into the interior.
