Expand or Die!, Growth in the freight industry, freight carrier, trucking transport

Expand or Die! This is usually the cry in all industries of the world, not just the trucking transport sector or air freight sector. A company has to always be looking to use its financial strength to diversity its business operations and find new acquisitions that fit its business model perfectly.

The current financial crisis that has been strangling many freight industry firms during the past year has created opportunity for firms to expand. A firm that's tough and willing to use its financial strength in relation to other firms to improve its position can take advantage of the economic situation to expand can and put itself in an advantageous position with new assets that improve its economic and future picture even more than before the acquistion.

Understanding the current advantageous position they hold over many of their competitors, Swedish firm Bjork Eklund Group has decided to make the plunge into the deep end of the investment pool with the purchase of 16 firms that are part of the Norwegian freight carrier industry.

This investment is a large one for any single firm and represents one of the biggest deals Bjork Eklund Group has ever pulled off. Still, in the current financial crisis you either expand or die, and they have chosen to take a chance and make the plunge by swallowing up smaller firms in a tight market.

This move will increase their exposure in a tough market where they're competition is big boys, like Kuehne & Nagel and Schenker. It will also put them in a position to compete better, once they get the new acquistions successfully integrated into their business model.

Bjork Edlund Group has made other acquisitions in the freight carrier industry in the past few months, with FCS Logistics, Hansa Seaways, Felles Transport, Spedair Latvia, and Spedair Ukraine being swallowed up by the Greencarrier Logistics Group. They might make other moves if the opportunity presents itself, so keep tuned to this channel for more news on Bjork Edlund Group's continued expansion.
